Frank got it all wrong. "A lot of hipsters are smoking cigarettes afraid of getting dirty?" Maybe he's intimidated about the next generation. Hey Frank, I'm a 30-something, guerrilla gardener, urban farmer, horticulture student, and a community activist. Oh yeah I manage a community garden too and it took me a little over a year to get off the ground.
I totally disagree with the perception of gardening being a hobby. It IS a way of life and for those of us that don't live in the midwest and have acreage we farm in the concrete jungle nonetheless it's still a lifestyle.
