I just listened to your watering podcast, I'm still not sure whether or not you guys are advocating watering more than roots. Can you guys provide clarity on this one. Thanks!

I think we're saying...anything goes. I do concentrate on watering the roots and JeanAnn doesn't- both of our gardens thrive. How's that for clarity? HA!

ok I have to side with Amanda on this one, as I water the base of the plant so the roots get the water, and I got told off for watering wrong lots when I was a trainee garden centre manager. That said, I did use a sprinkler today on the border that I was weeding because it was soooooo dry, but even after 20mins, the water had only gone down less than an inch, - so it would cost a fortune to sprinkler hose a whole garden.
